Making a hooded cloak is as easy as 5 simple steps: measure and cut the fabric, sew the pieces together, choose what style of hood you want and sew the hood onto the cloak, and attach the closure. Cloaks generally fasten at the neck or over the shoulder and the usual length is about mid-calf. But, they can range from the hip down to the ankle.

Draft and Sew the Hood. To create the hood pattern: Draw a rectangle with a width of 50 cm (shoulder to top of the head) and a height of 25 cm (hood base + seam allowance). To round the top edge, use a plate to trace a curve. Cut out the pattern. Fold your fabric's right sides together and pin the pattern in place.
